What enhances my life in recovery?
My faith and my peace I have most days. Today I know my peace and contentment come from having structure and routine. I fought against routines and structure when I was actively in my addiction. I didn’t understand the security that is included in having structure.
Having structure in my life allows me to enjoy the grace and the good things I’m given every day with no expectations attached. I can focus on what others give to me and what I can give to others. I can appreciate all that I have and not be looking for the next thing I think I need or want. My God’s grace is a gift of the present and practicing being happy and content.
Practice makes perfect, but am not looking for perfection today.
